When prodcer Leone Smillie called David Ondrick for horn work and the instrumental version on the closing track, he told David that the hook he wanted was based on an old melody by the great Skatalites horns-man Rolando Alfanso. Leon could not have made a better choice for the track, because David cites
Rolando as one of his main influences
on his reggae horn sound. "Rolando always gave me great encouragement when i visited him at the
Apache Bakery in Brooklyn," remembers David, "and he was the one who took to meet his friend
Coxsone Dodd at Studio One on Fulton Street."
